December 2009
In spite of overwhelming American disapproval of the Marxist, so-called, Health Care Bill, 50+ Senators are willing to fall on their swords to pass it. Thankfully, the balance needed to produce the 60 votes has seemingly gotten cold feet, maybe. They may be playing the Mary Landrieu game of “hold em” since she won a $300 million pay off on that hand.
Massive Tea Party turn-outs have caused some to sit up and take notice. Senator Webb has been showing signs that he has a re-election bid coming up and is moving decidedly back toward the middle. These maneuvers will be remembered as too little too late, Senator. We will not forget.
Warner seems rather smug in his seat. I can only guess he is expecting that We the People will forget by the time his re-election bid comes around. Not a chance, Senator.
Which brings me to the House of Representatives and Congressman Wittman whose re-election campaign starts in about 2 weeks. In a Town Hall meeting held December 8th in Montross, I asked Wittman if he intends to uphold his sacred Oath of Office. I prefaced it with this exchange:
Glenn Beck
Friday, November 6
Judge Napoloitano sitting in for Glenn…
FIRST QUESTIONING REP. CLYBURN ON HEALTH CARE:
Judge: Where in the Constitution is the federal Gov charged with maintaining people’s health?
Clyburn: Well, it’s not in the Constitution. There is nothing in the Constitution that says the federal government has got anything to do with most of the stuff we do. (Brian & the Judge Radio show Sept 8, 2009)
The Judge submits the same question to Republican Congressman John Shadegg of
Shadegg: “Most Congressman don’t read the Constitution, don’t think about it closely. What they’re mainly concerned about is getting themselves re-elected.”
Napolitano declares the Republican response is also unConstitutional.
Shadegg replies:
“You can take a purest position. My friend Ron Paul takes a purest position on many of these issues and votes no on everything!
I could wish we’d get back to the Constitution and introduce a Bill called the Enumerated Powers Act that would require we recite that section of the Constitution that requires us to act, BUT in the absence of that I think that what the minority party feels is that they feel that they have to be in the ball game.
You’re right, the Constitutions purest position is in fact…would make our bill WRONG…how do you stay in the game with
Of course Wittman affirmed that he intends to uphold his Oath of Office. I asked if he would lead the charge to demand his fellow Congressman uphold their Oath as well or face whatever remedy for betraying that sacred Oath. I emphasized that this IS NOT A GAME TO US. If he responded I did not hear what he said. But I can’t help but wonder if you haven’t upheld your Oath to date, what will compel you to do so in the future? What on earth are you waiting for?
I hear the same thing about Wittman that I heard about Delegate Pollard, “He’s a nice guy.” I beg to differ on both counts and I do have my substantiated reasons for saying so, but in this time of our nation’s history with the Rule of Law, as defined in our Constitution, completely disregarded, where are our leaders? Where are our Statesmen? Where are our Patrick Henrys, Samuel Adams, George Washingtons, etc?
People say that Wittman is great at staying in touch with his constituents. I agree. But we don’t need someone to make the rounds holding our hands. We need someone to stand up and fight. And I do mean bare fisted, no holds barred, fight for freedom!
As Fascism oozes from the White House and self proclaimed Communists occupy seats and offices surrounding the President, this cannot be construed as anything less than a battle for the hearts and minds and control of the nation.
